spied this on youtube today.
discovery must be paying them well cos i dont think the gold they found in previous years can get them all that gear!!
no doubt the 3rd season will be full of drama and hissy fits, watch it via youtube and you can skip the BS.

Yea waiting on the 2nd episode. Interesting write up but makes me think they still have no idea what they are doing....
Dave faces disaster when he finds his new claim is un-minable. Todd is thousands of dollars in the hole and the 1000 ounce goal looks impossible.

I carnt Believe the $$ they have spent on huge equipment for the ''seemly'' small returns they get back it would be interesting to no how many grams they get per ton.

yeah, it's a bit like that that show. the other one, godfathers is better ithink in that it seems a little more realistic. except the daughters have to do all the work. ie truck driving, bending over to fix stuff in inappropriate clothing.... you get the picture. makes better ratings.

the guy who got hold of all the old maps and reports i think may be onto something. the way the hurredly mine around the short season must have seen a few patches missed.

shame we can't get hold of such info here. apart from the govt stuff a lot has been lost i guess. if you look in the right places you never know what you can turn up i think - if you're lucky.

sorry, it should have read godfathers, not godfathers.

another american show similar to the goldrush one. also follows a few groups in their search for gold in alaska.

downloaded a few episodes via pirate bay. prob some on utube too i guess.

always interesting to see what they are doing and what works and doesn't work.

if all else fails good for a laugh.

wish i had the free labour of a family.

episode 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMVoxwMJh4s

The drama and dumbass mistakes begin..... if mistakes like that are not scripted i think a large flashing neon sign that the claim wasnt theirs still would not have helped lol. It takes great talent to be that stupid

The Gold Rush Alaska show appears to have become a Volvo Mining equipment expo-tainment in the same way the 'Swamp Loggers' was a Tiger-Cat equipment demonstration.

The amount of snow above the Hurts at Porcupine should make things interesting when it melts.

made for tv drama. we're seeing less and less gold mining.

todd shouldn't be in charge of anything. the guy pulled his shit plant out that was losing gold and now has no plant. that one doesn't even figure. then the guy that is making a super new plant that is the biggest around - he has no workers in site, the plant doesn't fit in his workshop, and he has no machinery big enough to move it. looks like he bit off more than he could chew.

todds mate with the 2nd site knows what he is doing. perhaps that is why the producers split them into 2 camps. so he could get on with it while todd bumbles about.

i like the kid across the creek. i know he's young but i guess he grew up on the claim. still a bit young and naive on a few ways of life it seems tho. prob outdo todd this year the way its going.

i will watch anything gold related so hopefully we start seeing some gold.

it will be interesting to see what is at the bottom of the old glory hole from the 1st series.

just to see one big nugget would be great.

simon youre right about it all being for tv drama, i think pretty much every reality show on tv is scripted to a point some more then others. it is a pitty that there is bugger all gold and not that much mining shown as thats what the program was made out to be... people mining not there little tiffs, whinging and dumbass decisions and 10 mins an episode of being told theyre gonna get 1000 oz lol
i read somewhere that discovery channel revealed that 1 of the teams hit the "motherlode" some stage in season 3 so will be interesting if it happens or it was just to get more veiwers.

.

Have to agree Simon... Todd is an idiot, he should have checked out the builders ability to make good on a delivery date for the trommel before he commissioned the build. To then take out the old wash plant leaving them with no way of processing paydirt is mindless. Even a small prospecting type wash plant would help them get some gold at least and keep the crew interested and busy untill the new plant arrives. But no... (sigh)

Makes for interesting TV, and I enjoy watching the season progress.
