OK i'm a noob. But here's my question:

If there is no quartz in a river will magnetite and hematite be absent?
I've heard where theres no quartz there will be no gold.

So will these 3 minerals be around each other? Or can they be solo?

While the occurrence of Magnetite can be associated with Gold deposits, it is not a requirement. Haematite can form by formed by oxidation of Magnetite. Commonly Magnetite forms in Magma bodies but also thorough serpentinization of ultramafics and as an accessory mineral. With quartz do not assume that because it is abundant it is gold bearing, yes NZ gold is often associated with Quartz veins but quartz veins occur in just about every basement rock and only rarely are associated with gold deposits. So to answer your question they can be found together almost as likely as they can be found apart but finding one mineral does not guarantee another.
