Couple of nice nuggets in the pan!
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

I love it Sean and wish I had been there - I had always promised myself to be at the Arrowtown 150th - Love the Prince of Wales - my great great grandfather and his partner Bill Barr sewed the calico for the roof of the original and knew the owner Bully Hayes in California.

Thanks :) it was a great weekend. Meet an old digger, Ian who was 84, a veteran of the Korean war, his grand father was from canton and spent time on the Wakatipu gold field, it was an honor to shake his hand. The re-enactment of the gold discovery was great with thousands of people watching, and functional re-creations of gold mining gear like rocker's/cradles. Was fortunate to get to go in to the masonic lodge for a wee look. Would like to have spent more time with all the activities, but I had a sample of Arrow gold to get for my collection, the nugget in the pan was not from the Arrow but somewhere else ;) Put the sluice box in and did a few pans till I was happy, good colour opposite the town now with all the modifications for the flood bank having dug up some gravel and lowered the channel, fed the fever going to the gold shop, some good looking gold that Justin has there. The gold panning competition, came third in the team event, but the times I am doing were not good enough to get in the final, the winner was Bill Lind using the traditional metal pan. There is another gold panning event on December 8th at Cadrona for their 150th.
