most of it will have been beach hunting. they go down after dark or first thing in the morning wen the crowds arnt there. ive seen pics of massive hauls of jewlry both gold and silver and hundreds of dollars or euros from just one nyt off a beach in spain at the peak of sumer. one day ill get there, lol.

there is an older guy based in Alexandra who knows all about the beaches of spain. He was metal detecting on those beaches in the 1960s and no one had seen one before. He was one of the first to do it on those beaches.
He told me after that he spent his whole life detecting in central otago and australia until he couldn't do it anymore because of ill health. His brother also was involved and made big money finding gold nuggets in Au with detectors. Some of you have probably met him if you are from the Alexandra area. I wish he was on this forum, he would have some stories to tell of a lifetime detecting for gold.
