Finds from a trip to Hagley Park yesterday.

Found loads of UK pennies including a well preserve (but worn) 1865, along with 2 1879's and a 1898. NO SILVERS!
Silver (solid, I think) and paua pendant.

The "P&H" lid appears to be the lid off an old lantern (possibly a bicycle one) made by Powell & Hanmer of Birmingham. They made carbide lamps and even acetylene ones for bicycles.

The mystery object is the gold plated copper one that looks like a false thumbnail. The pattern is stamped (you can see it on the reverse too). What the hell is it?

Could have been something made by this outfit:

Powell and Hanmer, P & H Ltd., Chester Street, Aston Manor, Birmingham (1929), 4, Ernest Street, B1 machined components, motor accessories including carbide/acetylene and electric lamps.

Oh, I didn't actually read the post, just looked at the picture... no idea what the hell that other thing is

Yeah....nice finds Andrew. As for the strange object..........no fricken idea. Does it look as if it may have been hinged at all?.....I was thinking maybe a small lid of some sort.
Hope someone can solve the mystery.....Roy, tonznz or expat?
