When I was looking I found that the Trademe 2nd ones were going for too much. Ended up getting a new one from here:

http://www.rotorualapidary.co.nz/acatalog/Tumblers.html

Very good service from them!

Genious!

I love the question on the thread "Would any brand of printer be alright".

Doh.

You can pick up old inkjets in garage sales for $1. I bought one a while ago (for parts scavenging) and he threw in a free scanner with it.

i asked that question because my old epson and canon printers seem to have rollers that are closer together than the one shown in http://metaldetectingfor.../showthread.php?t=121071 and wondered if all printers were the same,if you are such a genius maybe you should have posted that whole idea but then coming from shakey city probably explains everything

I got my lortone from the rotorua place also. Best device for cleaning up modern coins for reusing and tidying up artifacts. I found the rotorua shop good to deal with.

Madsonicboating, you are right with GOOGLE and YOUTUBE but if we were all to use them then forums such as this would not exist, price a harbor freight 3lb tumbler,it is US$39 but Fed-Ex Economy postage was US$101.better off buying one from rotorua place

google will also show you there are far cheaper shipping options - but then again - some people are known to pay silly money for things.....

my overseas shipping experiences on costs have been -

detector coils $18 to $25USD

detectors $40 to $80USD - however kellyco shipped two complete units to me for $60USD

always pays to negotiate & agree on shipping costs before you decide

there's no way I would pay anywhere near $100 for shipping a tumbler

If I need something on Amazon, I order a bunch of other useful stuff at the same time to get the free shipping and send it to a good friend in California, and he re-boxes it all into one box and sends it by snail mail. Gets here in a week or so, and way cheaper than the ripoff courier services.

Or if you don't have a mate in the US, Prezoom and Youshop (NZPost) offer a similar service.
