Hey guys, i got some spear cash and really want to look at getting my own claim. Can some one give me some ideas on how it all works, Ive read a bit from the govt website but still a bit confused. So if i find some land that i would like to claim on depending on who owns it i need consent .. and a mining permit. IF it was crown land, would i just apply for the permits then i can work on the land ? Thank just a bit lost here :D

hope you got plenty of spare cash lol,and time. youl need mining permit, access from either doc or linz maybe both depending on who owns/ administers the land, and resource consent is required if it is not a permitted activity in that area.
remember nzpam, linz, doc all have annual fees rma costs a bit too, iwi want $$$ for their signature, and youl need public liability insurance as part of access arrangement.
all before you can legally do anything on youre claim

There can be quite a few hoops to jump through thats for sure.

First step along the way would be to decide if you want to buy a permit or peg your own.

If you want to peg your own - make sure there is gold there - or go for a prospecting permit so you have exclusive rights.

Can give you a quick run down if you want to make contact. [email protected]

Cheers
