Just to show that we do get some silver up north here is my lot for September from about 6 hunts.
I realize it is absolutely pale by comparison to the "Silversmiths of Hagley" but we try.

Thanks for posting MK, thats a nice little haul. Its true that Hagley can be very generous, but it can be hard work and unfruitful at times, so we dont always have things our way!!

I spy a nice British shilling there, always a good find.

My first Franc as well and it was actually a surface find too.
I think they are only about 65% silver.

hi,well done,cant understand why theres not much silver stuff up there,is it because its all been built on?

Hi Roy,
I think there have been guys detecting in Auckland for 30 years or more and so the quantities you people
are finding now was cleaned out some years ago up here. The silver coin I find is usually quite deep say 15cm plus.
