Hi all.
Finally had the great silver day I have been waiting for this afternoon on Hagley Park (middle bit). Expat abandoned me muttering something about marital bliss and harmony so thought I would give it another 30 mins or so. Got a big deep signal and dug up my 1st half crown ( I think I beat DB to it, not sure?).Sent a text off to expat to gloat. Then checked the hole with the pin pointer and got another signal. Had a look this time and pulled out another half crown with a shilling sitting on top! So I had to send another text of course. You can see on the dirty coins where the shilling was on the right hand, half crown. When I went to clean the penny that turned out to be a Cu Ni and 3rd half crown that i have found! The one with the square hole in it seems to be a milk token. Havn't looked it up yet.

A couple of weeks ago I found a scarce token which was at $9.50 when I last checked trademe. Nice ones are worth $100's so I live in hope.

So it was 4 X 3d,1 X 6d,2 X Shillings,1 X Florin,2 X Half Crowns and a squashed silver ring.

Bloody near one of everything!
Cheers Metal Mikey.

Well done mate, fantastic little haul. Once again I fail to find a halfcrown and florin on the same day while another chap manages it under my nose.

That last threepence looks suspiciously like a 1935 example.... (just to make my day so complete) You sure it isnt??

Oh and I deny knowing anything at all about marital bliss and harmony.

My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.

Nice going Metal Mikey, you sure on a roll. Silvers are the word so this looks like a good thread to post this silver. Not a found one but bought back from germany by me mate who thought of me and handed it over. Its a 2 deutfches Reich 1937. Depicts an eagle holding a wreath with a Swatstika inside. A cool coin even tho its not rare and has a value of $0.20 - $11.00 and is 6.25% silver.
Keep up the great posts, they are awesome.
