Credit where credit's due - just thought I'd share with you that I've been most impressed with Coiltek's customer service.

Had an issue with one of their Minelab compatible batteries. Worked fine, but something had come loose and was clunking about inside. I posted a message on an Aussie forum (as I figured there's a lot more Minelab users over there). The Managing Director of Coiltek got in contact shortly afterwards and arranged a replacement - now that's what I call excellent customer service!

This was back in June, but I've only just thought about it again as I dust off the toys now it's getting warmer.

And no, I'm not getting paid to promote them ;) Just like to give credit where it's due.

Hey There,

Seems like you might know a thing or two, I have an an older detector GP 3000 and would like to get some additional coils, what would you recommend for around Queenstown way, I here I should be shopping for a DD, which if I'm not mistaken is something my wife wears.

Sorry, no idea about GP 3000's and still learning myself!

I thought mono coils were supposed to be better if you don't need to use a discriminate mode and not borrowing your wifes? Though maybe not for a GP 3000? Really don't know - I recommend kicking off another thread n the forums to see if anyone else might know ;)

elliptical coils are good for around here if you want to be able to get your detector into the nooks and crannies of the schist.

the monos are also ok for around here as are small also.

i once came across a guy from switzerland last summer out when i was out for a walk at the 12 mile. turned out he was here to do one of dan gerbers tours. well i had to laugh as he had a massive coil like a couple of feet wide. good for australia i though but not so good in the terrain up there.

Awkward?

Did you wipe up and apologise?
