does anyone know where i can purchase some headphones suitable for use with gold detectors?

i need something with a coiled lead.

my detector runs at 71 kHz (Fisher Goldbug 2) so what would be most suitable?

i want something that won't lose any weak signals.

i am willing to spend what is necessary to get the right headphones so open to all ideas.

yeah, i have seen those, but nowhere does it say too much about them. i am told i need to match the impedence with my detectors. what is everyone else running? i know there are a lot of standard type headphones in use, i'm looking at something that a professional user would use as i want to be able to pick up all the small signals. i'm currently running some technics headphones but these are designed for indoors. outdoors the non-coiled cable catches on every prickle and bush.

I am looking for a set of headphones with a very thin strap / hoop that will fit under my sun hat.

As Ive only used/tried 1 set of headphones with my Bug I have a question-do different headphones make a difference? I would have thought any decent set (hundred bucks and up) would perform the same but I stand to be corrected...

I am no expert but I think the ohms rating of the headphone has a bearing on performance.
In the first place the detector has to have the output power to drive the phone diaphram
and secondly the design of the phone diaphram has to be able to respond to fine signals to allow you
to hear the deep targets. For example I don't think ear bud type phones are going to give the response required for fine signals but are probably OK for general hunting.

Then of course you ear plays a part in this too. I like many others have
gone a bit deaf as I have got older and so have to accept that I wont hear everything.
Not gonna stop me trying though. :-)

I know nothing about headphones, but use the Fisher phones and like them pretty well. There is a less expensive version, but I am talking about the fancy ones. I like the curly cord because it keeps me from stepping on it etc, and it gets through the bush better. They have a volume knob that I have to turn way down and I have to turn the detector volume way down as well or they blow my head off. The are really quiet in that I can't hear anything besides the detector which is great unless someone is talking to me or I am about to get run over by a train. They are not light little things that you can put under a hat; they are big bulky things like they used with 1970's sterios. Oh, and they have the old style 1/4" plug so they will plug right into a GB2. Actually, now that I think about it I have used them with a GB2 and they were fine.
