Yes Roy, a very enjoyable day out in the sun.
A couple of inches of shiny .925 silver chain, some pennies, a couple of foreign coins and about $7 spendies was my lot.........not exactly a haul but with the sun on my back and some fine company......all is good with the world!

Hi Roy,
A quick Google to Wikipedia reveled that HSOB have had that strip since 1900!........That's going to make narrowing down a date for the wee badge a bit tricky.....good luck tho.

Wiki quote:- Colours

"Old Boys colours are: White jersey, white shorts and black socks with blue tops"

...And from the HSOB website I quote:-

"On Wednesday August 8th, 1900 a meeting of old boys was held in the School and over 70 were present. Dr Thacker took the chair and with a few opening words explained the objective of the meeting was the formation of an Old Boys Football Club.

These words neatly handwritten in an old minute book record the first meeting of the Christchurch High School Old Boys Rugby Club. The proposal to form the club was moved by Bob Speight and seconded by Tom Reese. It was a simple beginning for a club that has played a significant role in New Zealand's national sport, launching 23 players into All Black teams in its first century."

Excellent finds lads. I love that big chunky bracelet. That would have sent me into raptures.

My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.
