Hi guys,
Found 16 bits in the weekend. All very quartzy & was using the 11" minelab commander mono for most of them. Saturdays finds were all very small & the signals were very faint & just the slightest of warrbles on the threshold so on the very fringe of being detectable. Had the wind of been blowing I probably would have missed them. Some digs were just slight ground noise & vanished after a couple of scrapes. I got 13 on saturday & the bit by itself on the right was got with the 12 x 15 commander mono. Smallest .07 biggest biggest .42 grams

Close up shows the quartz still attached. Be nice to find the source.

Sunday I left on the 12 x 15 & managed 3 bits. The bigger bit was down about 10". Again they all had quartz attached & were found further afield than the previous days bits. smallest .13 biggest 3.32 grams. Total for the weekend was just over 7 grams.

Detecting with the coil low, slow & scrapping the ground & the threshold running as quite as I could get it. During midday & the sun at its highest the 3000 got a bit chattery especially with the 12 x 15 coil on. I was going to try the 18" commander but didnt bother.

Good luck oput there

JW :)
