Hi guys, Went out for a few hours yesterday after finishing work a couple of hours earlier than normal. Had left the 11" commander mono on & went to an area of old workings that I dont thnik I had been over with the 11" & hadnt detected there for quite a while. Maybe some gold had grown back since my last time there.

Was walking down what would have been an access road years ago now getting pretty overgrown but still able to get down between the briar rose & broom bushes. Got a few junk targets as you would expect on an old track. Off to the sides was piles of tailings & broken up schist bed rock. Not really knowing how far down to true bed rock the piles of tailings were sitting on I waved the coil over & around the first pile I came to. Got a very positive mellow signal from on top of the pile & thought it had to be lead. Pulled off a few stones & the signal was getting louder. Junk for sure, but I kept going to ID it. Got down to a bit of gravel but not really true bed rock schist. More like decomposed schist from the rock pile. Needed to dig & scrape into this gravel & then the target was out. Has to be lead. Well it turned out to be a .81 gram little slug of the good stuff. You beauty.
Then nothing but junk for a while But then snagged a little .16 gram piece. So I guess the finds off set my finishing work two hours early.
