Why ALL the negativity?

If you actually read up on this particular detector its PRIMARY use is for -

"This metal detector is ideal for use at airports, industrial sites, government buildings, schools, hospitals, meetings, athletic events, or anywhere you need security."

then it says -

"Also can be used for locating metal objects underground and mine detection etc"

Now for the price, it appears to be a good value for what its designed to do -

Hardly worth attacking the seller

There appears to be nothing different to the manual regarding specifications & what the the auction states -

I gather you have looked into the product in detail & realize its NOT your standard hobbyist detector as I have previously mentioned -

Don't get me wrong - I am NOT sticking up for the product, just simply pointing out what it is primarily designed for -

Have you got the Etrac yet?

you must be bursting lol

No, I'm sorry, after reading the (lol funny) manual, it becomes even clearer that this is a shitty piece of equipment using very old technology.

I'd be willing to bet ANYONE $500 that it is a shit detector that would be easily beaten by the lowest end Garrett/Fisher that are cheaper than it.

My father got one of these to find a special bit that fell off a harvesting machine in one of his huge paddocks. He had never used a detector before and it was easily available from Topmaq. It served its job well as he found the part in under an hour. It served its purpose and now sits in a corner. My point is that it would have its uses but probably not as a hobbyist machine. The part would have been impossible to find otherwise and too hard to find another.

it simply does what its designed to do - shitty or NOT, please don't confuse it with Garretts or Fishers

the point i am making is why in the hell slag off the sellers auctions?

there's shit all throughout trademe - why pick on these guys?

surely its not that its an overpriced item - bloody cheap considering what its supposed to do & the seller has in no way that i can see, stretched the truth -

so why all the love people?

i thought metal detecting to be a mellow hobby

anyone with half a clue would NOT purchase one of these to take up metal detecting as a hobby, however a business might

Low end Fisher would be the F2 nowadays I'm guessing and the Garrett would be the Ace250 wouldnt it? I couldnt imagine the Topmaq detector to be better but stranger things have happened at sea. Depends what you call better also I guess.

haha look on the bright side..
If a whole lot of guys buy these detectors they certainly wont hunt out the parks lol..
And they may even take away the pull tabs and caps for us!!!!!!! lol
Just hope they fill there holes :)

I'll be happy to walk behind them with my humble Garret or Fisher
