Hi all, I've been in Auckland for around a month now and have been doing a fair bit of detecting around titirangi beach and Pt Chevalier beach. I've had a few finds including my first bit of gold! I've tried a couple of parks around Glen Eden but have found no old coins. I just need a crown/half crown to complete my NZ silver coin collection. Moving to the Sandringham area in a couple of weeks so if your close by and fancy a hunt, give me a shout.

Hey Scotlad, I don't yet have the detector but as soon as I do I'll be in touch. Presumably, you're Scottish? I'm from near Dumbarton.

I am Scottish (from saltcoats,ayrshire) I dont live in NZ anymore--have moved to townsville, OZ but give me a shout when you get your machine and i will point you to some decent spots. what detector are you getting?
