you would have to be keen to get in the water this time of the year!
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

hi there connor,

i don't have a claim yet but i'm always out mining some way or other.

you could try and come on one of my trips out.

i'm in queenstown so it's not far to the gold.

i do have access to a claim and there's some public fossicking areas nearby.

i sluice and detect. i base my workings around the climate so there is always somewhere to head to. if there's floods you can detect up away from the river.

at present it's frozen solid everywhere so pretty harsh work environment.

there's always a good patch of weather every now and then tho. maybe closer to summer would be better as you don't need to have too much gear and clothing and can stand in the water all day.

at the moment it's only the crazy extreme miners still at it that can't give up. you don't want any ill health effects associated with winter mining.

Hi Simon,
I go up central a bit so it would be really cool if you could show me the ropes on detecting ? I have used a sluice on the arrow river with bad average results( I think because of how much it gets worked)
Thanks :)
