In general a few people have told me that it's worth getting in to the hills away from the water where the old timers would have had trouble working due to the lack of water. I've heard of a few people doing well this way. If you can figure out where some long dry ancient water paths might have been they'd be good to check out.

hi, just wondering if your had any luck detecting out this way yet???

i have to come over to alex from QT 4 times a week for physio and have been off in the hills lots detecting the bedrock on the little dry creeks that run into the lake/river but not found a thing, just lots of lead shot. just wondered if your had more luck then me. thinking im going to give up trying out that way soon and stick to QT area and just go fishing when im out alex way.
