Well done mate. I'm severely overdue for a halfcrown and you get two!!

My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.

Damn! I havnt even found a florin yet :( Only got about a dozen small silvers. No 6 pence, no florins or half crowns. went out the other day and got 35 coins oldest was 1899 penny and a 1850 something trade token (first one of those I have found). I got excited cos it looked like it said bravery and was a medal but when I wiped it a bit, I realised it said drapery!!! Duh!!!!
Pleased to see Im just not in the right spots and there IS some silver left to find!

Hey mate those trade tokens can be worth hundreds of dollars in reasonable condition.
I know someone that may be interested in it.

Hey Chrischch, If your interested in finding out a bit more about what your trade token may be worth, have a look at this link...

http://nzcollectorservic.../index.php?cPath=256_205

I see there are a few drapery tokens shown that may help you identify and possibly price yours.
I'm still on the hunt for my first trade token.......very elusive, so well done Chris!

hi ch ch, keep looking close to where you found the token, you at least know there,s a chance of finding old stuff ,old big silver coins were almost a weeks wage,so they would have been carefull with it,eventually one will have your name on it.roy

Thanks for that guys....the one i found is the same as this...
http://www.australiansta...eal/earlynz/prndptok.htm
I think I have the A-446 R6 version that seems the rarest.
Its obviously in "as found in the ground" condition and therefore a bit corroded. I havnt cleaned it much, just a brush and water.
Let your mate know I have this one and he is welcome to contact me via email etc [email protected]
Cheers,
Chris.
