Hi NiN

It will either go up in value, or go down, or stay the same - like every other commodity.

You have to decide whether you should speculate on gold values in preference to any other commodity.

Hello, long term speculation is for gold to keep increasing, and if things keep going the way the are in the middle east there is no reason for it not to. If you buy on the market, sure you will have a nice gold bar paper weight, you will have to pay spot price, it a bit of a gamble, advantage is that you can show it's 99.9% pure and get that price when you sell it. I know some people who are buying alluvial Au privately and are holding on to it for the long term, only small amounts here and there, and they too are supplementing it with gold they find themselves. :)

I would recommend buying as much Gold as you can afford but before Gold buy Silver - Silver, Silver and even more Silver.

Do not sell either as long as you can avoid it.
