Hi guys, Havnt been out gold detecting for a couple of weeks. Went back up home for a week to pack up the house to rent it out. Plus it has been damn bloody gold down here in QT as Simon has been pointing out.. The ground being very hard with permafrost to dig targets.
I went out last sunday for the afternoon & got these four tiny bits for not quite 1 gram. It was damn hard work with the ground like concrete.

This is the house I am building. Doesnt get any sun this time of the year & has been covered in snow & ice for the last month. It is up above from where the Shotover Jet operates from. The Jet boats havnt been operating for over two weeks now due to iced up river & icebergs coming down the river.

Good luck out there if you are heading out in the wilds

Yer....good call, but it is just one more thing to cart around LOL :)

Its been raining here in QT today, Thank Christ, it will at least melt the ice & snow but it is supposed to turn to snow monday tuesday. Bugger.

Hi there element111, I am swinging a Minelab GP 3000. 5 generations old now but very suited to NZ conditions & very good on small gold & bigger ones too if they are there. Havnt come across a decent size piece for a while.

Poohbear, The house is at Arthurs Point off Morning Star Terrace. The Oxenbridge Tunnel is down over the back of the house. I think the mountain in the back ground is Bowen Peak.
Hopefully the rain will button off & I can get out tomorrow.

Happy hunting

JW :)
