I am posting this to create a resource for us all.

I know there are shops up and down the West Coast that buy gold from hobby fossickers.

Where else can you sell gold and what restrictions apply or do you have to prove you have a mining permit or whatever?

Is there any mention of tax or withholding tax etc involved?

Here is a suggestion, perhaps some of these businesses would like to pay for a banner ad or similar on this site and therefore expose themselves to an interested group and assist the site owner with the costs? This is done on a hunting and fishing forum I belong to.

Morris and watson are pretty good they can refine your gold and also do an assay on it to see how pure it is.

Yes most of the other gold buyers like the gold shop in arrow town or jewler shops etc usally buy it on behalf of morris & watson so if you sell direct your cutting out the middle man.also something else to think about is the fact most gold buyers pay "about" 80% percent of what alluvial gold is worth this is to compensate for impureites so often your better off getting it purified and then selling it at the much higer rate i recently did this and got an extra $600 and that was only for a small amount of gold so if youv got a few ounce,s its something to consider.

Hi GBM, Do you have a go at purifying the alluvial yourself, or get somebody else to do it. I imagine it would take more than a gas torch and a crucible.^^

Hi Guys,

We can refine and purchase any alluvial gold that you may want processed. We have a price guarantee and will consider exchange of fine material for minted bullion (subject to cost and current market prices).

Naturally we prefer larger amounts because you pay less for refining and assay, however will consider any volume.

For more information please call or email us: 0800-465-376, [email protected]

Regards,
Anita
