Hey folks, a mate and I spent a week at the west coast hunting gold. We did pretty crap really but the one good thing that did come out of the trip was the 11.6 gram nugget below.

Very nice find Hatter. Well done. Very solid chunky bit. Rounded & not squashed & flatened. You will have that student loan paid off in no time.
Sure beats my 3.4 grams I got yesterday arvo.

Suppose I better answer a few questions, was found on the west coast thats all i'll say for now as I have some unfinished buisness with the area. I detected it in a hole someone had dug and the nugget was about 2 inches down. And yes this one fell victim to the gold bug. Other than this piece the only other bits over a gram were 1.2 and 1.3 grams.
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

Batteries do help!!,

i am working on a idear a bit like the wind up tourch, every time you swing your detector a pendulums swings inside producing power!!!
