With all the old coins coming out of hagley park lately i would say only couple of years before all hunted out(old stuff anyways)

yeah i think the same, there is only so much of old stuff. But metal detecting hobby will never stop unless made illegal.
the cast iron plates reading: Veronica Loganioides, Tetrasticha, Hectori. I'm not sure what they are or stand for.

A quick google of those names tells us that they are types of plant. I wonder if the area you hunted was once part of the botanical gardens (or a separate part) and that these were name tags which parted company with the plants. Seems strange otherwise how three were found near each other.

They are plant tags. Veronica is the largest genus in the flowering plant family Plantaginaceae, with about 500 species; it was formerly classified in the family Scrophulariaceae.
