Not a bad return for 5 days work, even at about $8/oz

Hi Kiwipete, that is some haul. I would be happy to spend 5 days and have 1 oz for my efforts. Envy big time....

Amazing isn't it. He describes an even better haul of 1235 oz for the week of July 7 1900. I don't have a receipt for that but in his book he says there was a photo of that gold still in the Hotel Cromwell at the time of writing (approx 1950). Career total of 4.7 troy tons. Unfortunately for later generations he had a motto " better to live rich and die poor than to live poor and die rich" Even so he didn't manage to get through it all.
