$2495 at this website

Seems like it has got everything except sky tv and a coffee maker.

Will be interested to hear what the users of the high end minelabs think of the capabilities of this machine.

Theres been a lot of excitement over this machine recently, but i've yet to hear of anyone using one.Seems like it may solve the explorer/etrac problems of slow recovery, nulling and give better target seperation.I won't be rushing to buy one as it seems they weigh even more than the etrac.Weight is the biggest issue for me,and the reason i no longer use an explorer, for all there advantages, its just too much to swing all day comfortably.
I think Minelab have made a mistake by not addressing this issue, apparently they don't listen to what us detectorists want.

Yes I agree - weight is a big issue. Maybe it is detachable like the Excal.

I agree about weight. My minelab sov gt weighs a ton. My teknetics T2 is like there is no weight at all. And the minelabs are so overpriced!

The GPS would be great for grid searching if it is set up to do that.

The ctx looks better than their pin pointer with the square handle?

I realized that weight is crucial after getting Excalibur.
I could do 5 hours with Gold bug no issues. but when on a first night i used excalibur attached to the shaft- ...Grrr... so so havy.
so immediately changed to heap mount.

No im afraid not, would seem sensible. This machine is fully waterproof so i expect that has added to the weight.I've seen one review where the guy said he had trouble reading the screen in sunlight, due to the extra screen thickness required for underwater detecting.
I'll be sticking to my Xterra, can swing it all day with no problems, even with the large NEL coil on it.
Not really sure why they bothered bringing out a fully waterproof one,it seems its aimed at a very specialised detecting market.

Maybe they're bringing out the bells and whistles version first, waiting until all the fanatics have opened their wallets, then after they'll bring out the cheaper non-waterproof one?

Do you mean hip mount Drunkbrother? If you do I would watch that as in my experience when you hip mount the control box the cable connection where the coil enters the control box is gradually strained and eventually fails. I have damaged two coils that way. I would never hip mount the control box again.
