Any Wellington Detectorists?

Interesting but only just this moment I have wondered at the implications of someone joining who has a criminal history and is using the site for nefarious intent? - I am not trying to be a party pooper but I would think it wise to inform the police of intentions and to vet all those who wish to be part of it - they would have to give their permission to be vetted and the police would assist you in how to go about this. Basically it is to cover the site owner or the co ordinator from any unlawful intent or actions of a detectorist or pseudo detectorist who has used the position for unlawful gain. Dont leave a stone unturned because many a good intention by an honest and decent person has turned to custard due to the action of others of lesser integrity...and the disclaimer is an excellent first step but to be professional and professionally recognized it might be good to have those listed vetted and a notification of that effect placed in the site so that it can safely be said that all members of the site who are volunteering their services have been police vetted - this means that clients can have faith in the site and its members.

Am attracted by the gold bug but I dont think its waterproof? I would be able to be vetted with no worries, and happy to do the odd job as long as its not detecting for unexploded mortar rounds at Queen Elizabeth Park!
