Tonight I dug an 1817 shilling!! Totally worn on one side but I can see the date on the other-phew!
One of two silvers I found tonight at Hagley.
Big thanks to Hunter for letting me whizz around with his Garrett GTP1350 :o)
My own machine at present is a Gold Century GC1016. Google that for a laugh (although its simple it finds stuff-just dont know what till its dug!)

Jeez bloody laptop died just as I was about to attach photo..here we go now!

Nope-the photo appears to be 14mb..better resize it...ah what a mish this is hoho..

I found it at Little Hagley Park, also known as Pilgrims Corner.
Was funny, I was looking (as we all do) around the big old trees then I thought everyones done that I'll look around a younger smaller tree for a laugh...had a great laugh!
Never thought Id find a coin that old in CHCH to be honest. I found an 1899 3D as well in real nice nick.
Thanks for the comments guys! Sure gets you a bit more eager and excited!
There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!
