Hey guys I've gone from lurker to official member lol.
Met hunter, nzpoohbear and oroplata at Hagley yesdy. Nice
Guys cheers! Big ups to hunter on that beaut silver find-freekin
Sweet!
I have a real basic detector ($145 lol) but it finds metal. Spent
About ten minutes digging a huge horshoe from under tree roots that was fun
But good decoration piece and brought good luck as I dug a penny from 4
Inches under a packed gravel path- cant wait to find more spendables and upgrade to some real gear!
There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!

Welcome to the forum Jason - plenty of finds have been dug up using cheap/home-built gear.
It is nice to have some of the extra features though. Good luck.

Good to see you come out of the woodwork Jason.

I think the gravel paths could be a good source of stuff because they're hard to dig so everyone's last choice. :)

I've dug a few Victorian pennies up from under the car park shingle there - people walking past thought I was nuts.
