Does NZ have airborne electromagnetic data available?

About 3 yrs ago, a helicopter was flying out of Omaka awerodrome with a big electromagnetic thingymagig dangling from it and it was zooming around the Richmond Ranges and further afield, looking for "areas of interest" I doubt if that info will ever become public knowledge. It will be files away in some big international mining company's filing system

The whole of Northland was magnetically? surveyed by air in recent years too and I think our Mr Key is now trying to get miners interested. Seem to remember a short item on the TV a while back.
Gold in behind Kaeo from memory.

Otago's data from 2007 can be requested from here: https://data.nzpam.govt.nz/GOLD/system/mainframe.asp . Search for report MR4327 Airbourne Geophysical Data. I haven't requested any info from this site so can't say how easy it is to go through the process. There could be other regions listed as well.

There is masses of historic and current prospecting, exploration and mining data from the NZPAM website - reporting is a requirement in all permits so although we might have to wait a little while that information will eventually be in the public domain. In reality we have never had access to such a wealth of information as we have in recent years.

Well if you're looking for buried steam engines, that's the data you need. :)
