Brillent, Mr Kiwi.

What a great project.

I bought one and decided that it was too difficult to make.
They do work, but the feed rates are slow.

I havent tried 100 mesh plus, as on the Rob Goreham video
on the Prospecting Channel, but I think that if the feed rate
is right, it should work.

All the best with this great project.

I've got a blue bowl and it works very well. I'am a boatbuilder and have made a few moulds. I don't think you quite got the cone in the centre quite right. My one ,the cone comes up on a 45 and then the last 10 mm comes stright up and slopes out just a little bit. To make a mould like this ,the top part of the mould would have to be removed before removing the bowl from the mould. Anyway if you have any problems give me a yell.

Yes ,i too was in boatbuilding trade then spent 10 years in fibreglassing workshop getting trade in composite engineering. I have built hundreds of molds for just about every industry you could think of.Yes ,my blue bowl mold is not identical to original bowl with inverted flare at top of funnel as i only wanted to do one layup .But when processing concentrate I will have mini sluice to collect ultra fine gold that comes up over the centre funnel set up under bowl. When I made the plug,I tested that. I ran some material and probably lost 30% out of it.Which is okay because mini sluice will recover that.If i want too i can add a rubber o ring to top of center funnel which will act as the flare edge.
Anyway Im new to this gold prospecting stuff but im well and truly hooked and have a bad case of gold fever!!!There is so many products for this industry that I could make with fibreglass but dont really have the time.
Thanks for the offer of help though East-Auck-Fossicker, thats a rear thing these days .Id like to extend that same offer to anyone on here that may need any advice on fibreglassing in general, just give me a buzz on here and will be happy to advise.

Orepuki black sand is da bomb!!
cheers

ps have just about finished my alloy sluice will post some pics up soon
