Finally.... next week NZ!

I know that this is a question which has been asked before.... but I hope to get it organized in this topic. :-)

A1) where to go on the Southern Island?
2) is this place for panning or detector?

B1) where to go for equipment on the Southern Island? (store)
2) Do they sell pans or detectors?

I am a newbie, but looking forward to get started!

Theres a shop in christchurch called skylab that sells detectors (mostly minelabs) and you can get a pan from Hetties Rock Shop also here in Christchurch (my brother in law owns the shop). The other options are buying mail order from J.W. off here (sluices etc) and the other paydirt.co.nz equipment sellers or trademe. Hope that helps a little. I do also have a spare sluice, pan and detector that you could buy or hire if that suited.
