Found a few more pieces of silver during February.
Sixpences prevailed but the 5 gram bar and chain was a nice surprise.

WOW! That bar is a cool find! I'd be wrapped to find one of those. I found a ring very similar if not the same as that and also a matching locket similar to the one in that pic too. I wonder how that bar got lost?

good finds. The coin top right looks interesting. Is there a date? Do you keep them as you find them or are you tempted to try mild cleaning with Ammonia and the like?

Hi Oroplata and Tonznz

The coin at the top right of the picture is an 1888 English Jubilee shilling.
It is very worn on both sides but fortunately the date is still clear.
There is more about that find and other recent silver on my blog if you
want to have a look.

Re cleaning silver - mostly I just wash with a commercial detergent and if I
want to clean more then sometimes white vinegar. Have not tried Ammonia.

Found more unusual silver today and will probably post on my blog tonight.

Cool silver finds metalkiwi. That ingot is a bit of a buzz. Good too see a roundup of silvers. Is that 1888 the earliest one there?
