Cheers guys, lived here 30 years and in the last month have learnt so much about the history around here.
The main park,Bledisloe, had something to do with the yanks here during WW2, they were stationed around the area, a big camp at the showgrounds, which the stripped top soil from to construct Bledisloe park.
So I've been trying to track everything down, getting there slowly.

My find of the day today, I really like these little blighters.
In great condition.

That's an interesting find.
Quite small, crossed anchors with US letters.
Probably military but could also be boys brigade perhaps
based on a quick look on google.

Hope someone knows.

I had a quick hunt at Hagley on saturday arvo,
Im not sure what the lump of metal is, suspect its lead,
its soft, put a little knick in it with a sharp knife.
