I've heard that it's common to find silver around gold and most gold has a very small percentage of silver alloyed with it (so never 100% pure gold, but in the high 90%'s). Was the gold jeweller in Arrowtown that told me a few days ago as I was showing my relies that are over the gold nuggets on display there.

P.S. Been on the road for a few weeks so been offline. No great stories of golden riches to tell though :P
