First time on this forum, I was at moonlight, on the 18 and 19 of feb, this bridge is still out, it is only part of the problem however, the access road from the bridge up to the car park has been taken out by a series of large slips, no way to get a 4wd through. I did find a half gram nugget on the bedrock just a bit further up from the car park, as well as a 1835 silver shilling from the old days, using gpx4500.

Cheers for the update - much appreciated! :)

That's a good bit of luck you had there with your finds! May have a walk in myself and check the area out.

Be careful, starflash might claim he dropped it up there after seeing the photo! :P

I'd love to see a photo too - maybe of the gold as well if possible. Curious how big it was?

will try and get photos up soon, not so good with linking technology, nugget was half gram, both were found in the bedrock that has been exposed in the last couple of months.

Up the moonlight again, on the tops TALK ABOUT WIND CHILL!!! Just thought I'd let you all know, the bridge now has some planks placed on it to WALK across, all the slips past the bridge have been filled in or removed. I spoke to doc, they think maybe September till the bridge is fully restored.

Are you refering to a campervan or a caravan? If it is a caravan then I know who you are talking about & I crashed out in his caravan for 3 nights when I was there in october on my way back home from my winter stop over in QT. He sure is a very interesting chap & knows his stuff when it comes to gold. He used to work for the old Forestry Dept & knows a heap of gold spots.

A couple of other vehicles.....yep that sounds like him & the other crew. Great bunch. One was from Tauranga. He was running a gold bug & finding a bit too. They found some nice gold when I was with them in october just processing material through a sluice box.

Happy hunting
