The areas I do like to see is that they ARE spending money here and not bringing in their own crews and machinery. Yes you are right a majority of the wealth is and does go overseas when mining takes place which does suck BIG TIME but who do we blame for that, the bloody Crown. The one thing I cant understand is they make it so damn hard for any of us to go and have a bit of fun for a weekend without spending a ridiculous amount of money having to have a claim, its not like we are going to bring in the diggers and 6 foot trommels but they are prepared to give it away to an overseas company that has millions to spend every year. It pisses me off as much as you trust me there, the only thing I am grateful for is that they are putting some money into the local economy of a small town and the surrounding area. The area they are in and looking at is spectacular for sure, I went up there last weekend and it is stunning to say the least and I would hate to see it look like the way you describe down south. I dont mean to sound like I would give them the go ahead but I like that they are bringing some finance in instead of none.

Well it pleases me that you wrote that but sadly this is why locals support them - it brings some short term employment and wealth into the local economy - I have seen this country go from a country that belonged to you and me to one that belongs to the receivers - the International bankers - if ALL new Zealanders put a stranglehold on the government, forced them out and put in a peoples government, sworn to protect the country from the big Internationals, create wealth for the New Zealanders by telling the International bankers to get stuffed - they have been repaid many times over and put the money that would otherwise be used to repay a debt which has already been paid dozens of time over into the local economy then we would ALL be better off - not just the locals but all New Zealanders and the wealth thus mined would stay here as a hedge against poverty and bargaining power off shore.
Modern society and the younger generation cannot see that they are actually being enslaved because they have no benchmark to compare with - lets go to 1960 and consider it - you could walk down the road to the gun shop down the main street with your rifle and no one cared, you could go hunting anywhere you liked within reason and it was so easy to get permission, no farmer cared if you crossed his place, prospected in the river, fished, camped and did what you liked as long as you respected property...and you could go and buy a miners right for five shillings and then go gold fossicking any where you liked on crown land, they didn't force you to wear helmets on your bike, they didnt bring in all these little laws ostensibly in YOUR interests but no matter how you look at it they are gradually, subliminally eroding your rights and your FREEDOM.
This is NOT gods own country - it is not your country - it belongs to the International bankers and all decisions are made in their interests - selling land to offshore interests, selling state assets to offshore interests, selling the fisheries to offshore interests through 'joint' fishing ventures. allowing offshore mining companies to mine OUR land and take OUR gold offshore - who gets Macraes Gold? - Rothschilds I understand - who are the International bankers - they include the Rothschilds - funny that dont you think?...and what do we do? Nothing! What good is all this wealth going to do them? In the end no good but in the meantime we suffer.

Hey

Just wondered why you wouldnt take a Pan or a dredge in there. From what ive seen, it has heavy mineralisation and plenty of potential if you avoid the vertical bluffs, wild pigs and insane access.

Cheers DGR

I think Goldhunter was tongue in cheek about the pan but if you avoid the bluffs pigs and insane access theres not a lot left to go at-its bloody savage country in there. The Aorere isnt too bad but all the side creeks are a nightmare to get into-hats off to the old hatters...
Take a dredge in there and be prepared for some VERY hard yakka...

It is pretty sad that we have given up the right to be able to hurt ourselves .. unless of course you are a rugby player, but that is another gripe altogether.
It is no wonder the suicide rate has skyrocketed.

Too bloody right mforg-we have all been hamstrung by the bloody American mantra "someone must be to blame-lets sue them!"

And weve all become a little less of the self reliant pioneers we used to be which is downright sad in my opinion.

Now pass me the dynamite,a couple of fuses and a box of matches and lets see what happens when we do THIS (",)

Well I am surprised to see some real Kiwis above - guys who have a bit if sense and dont spout this crap about supporting foreigners coming in to pillage our country because we cant afford to kine it ourselves, foreigners coming in to boost the local economy while stealing our assets.

This bloke should set an example to the party poopers who think that foreigner investment and capital are needed as those who think that talk rubbish - total rubbish.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/s...onsent-to-mine-DOC-land

Thanks to Simon for pointing out this newspaper clipping - I know well of this bloke and he started off with nothing but some faith in his own ability - he did his homework - he read mines records and historical accounts then he went for it - this fellow has proven that you do not need much to begin with and you can do extremely well - I believe that in one of his small ventures some years ago he got 30 ounces in three days with the self same gear that some of you people use now and with more researcha nd prudent expenditure I guess he has built himself up to the level indicated in the newspaper article.

Unfortunately I cannot show them here but those who visit me are shown a set of photographs - an old bloke on the coast found gold and mined his land - for four years he averaged 35 ounces per day...while others talk of selling gold mining rights to foreigners...mad!

Wake up New Zealand!
