Hi Creamer. Good finds. The "SM" silver ring, esp since it has a cross prob stands for "Society of Mary" i.e. Marists and is a ring from their religious order. Cool find.

I think it might be a genuine silver bullet carried specifically for killing werewolves and vampires - apparently only silver bullets can kill them so that has to be the answer!

The shell looks a trifle short for what appears to be a 9mm case so I am wondering if it is 9mm corto for a 1934 Beretta - if so then it probably indicates the fact that during WWII the Italians actually set foot in this country and having heard some rumours about South Seas cannabilism came prepared with silver bullets in case of vampires.

Seriously though I am interested in the head stamp on the case as I am guessing it is a Beretta case and it has most likely been made into costume jewellery - if it was a longer rifle case then they have been made into smoking aids for smoking...tobacco of course.

Hi all. I photographed and posted these finds for Chrisyboy when he came up this week. Hes out testing my 350 so im sure he will have some more spectacular finds to show and probably anwser your questions.
The bullet, i do believe, is a modified 5.56 with either a mother of pearl or solid shell head. Not silver im afraid but a nice piece all the same and quite old. The Tiki is made from lead.

hi all amazing finds keep popping up due to camera failure
and kids home from school havnt been able to post but been
griding my fav beach and still keeps producing excellent finds
heaps of coins etc hope to get new camera soon so will post
more pics, the tiki i found is lead and in primo condition so i
started to look at my lead finds a bit better some people in old times
put alot of effort in designing these pieces, the bullet is a cut down 5.56
with some pearly head old war relic from pacific islands i guess.
sold it to my sisters partener for $20,still been hunting gemstones
nothing big but good fun, finding heaps of garnets but very small,
couple of mystery stones that i will look into maybe a ruby as thats
what i originally was told there was in this area from a very reliable
source but due to lots of small garnets maybe not, small amounts of
fine gold but to hard and sparce.the more i detect my beach the more
older people come over and tell me allsorts of fantastic stories and places
to hunt which has seen me travelling all around northland in search of
everything from petrified wood to opal to ruby, what an amazing place we
live in when you get into it.

checked out where part of an old horse race track
was back in the late 1800s-1911 and popped this cool
bit of history, they where cutting the trees down in
Mander park the other day there was a huge protest goin on
people going crazy,so old crisyboy whipped out his detector anadingdingding
1889 one penny, then an old watch and a bunch of old aussie pennies, this lady
came over and we started talking she has been living across from the park most
her life then bang gave me the ultimate history lesson about the whole new area
for me to explore GOLD,tell you what when somebody tells you the exact spot takes
alot of hard work finding spots that are not obvious or grown over.the big fella upstairs
has been looking after crisyboy lately i think im going to be a full time treasure hunter
if the wife lets me?

Yes, I always try to talk to any old folks I see that show an interest in what I'm doing. Gold mines of information.

Start handing your wife gold, and she will be packing your bags and providing you a packed lunch, mate.
